Bergen Ølfestival! (Bergen Beer Festival) 卑爾根啤酒節, but I got lots of food too!

Bergen Ølfestival

Bergen Ølfestival, the first event I attended in Bergen, is the largest beer festival in local.

It was held on the Rosenkrantztanet & Haonshallen (羅森克倫茲塔與哈肯王行宮) near the famous and beautiful tourist place Bryggen. Walking along the pier, the picturesque scenery undoubtedly soften your heart.

When we arrived the beer festival, lots of people showed up. It surprised me that even Norwegians intend to live as healthier as they can , beer still is one of their favorite drinks. Few steps before the entrance, there was a ticket office and it cost 60kr for admission. If you buy ticket online, you probably save 10kr per each. Norway and other Scandinavia countries have highly electronized their transaction processes.

Most of the time, credit card, online and  mobile payment are much more preferable. That's why I highly recommend every exchange student coming to Scandinavia area bring 1-2 credit cards, and I will write a blog related to payment method later on.

Gosh! There were many people!

Each of the tent had a counter to sell beer. But if you wanted to buy it, there was a queue for buying tokens, same as I mentioned they use non-money transaction all the time. I remember the price was 100kr for 3 cups, not expensive if you want to taste the local and homemade beer.

The Matfest (local food festival) was nearby, so we also attended. I think, for people who don't drink, they may think it is not worthwhile to pay 60kr and just see people drinking around. I believe the Matfest is the one which suits everyone.

Homemade Honey, tasty and with a wide variety of flavors

Not expensive, not at all

Hotdogs

Local dessert - pancake
They used to put lots of jams and sources as topping! Sweet Sweet

The one I took at the Matfest, it cost 50kr with coffee
The price level in Norway is high, even a slice of cake or a bread is probably priced 30-50kr. Don't take going to a food festival as simple as an cultural event, it also offers you dozen free trials on some traditional food that you won't buy in the local. After trial, you may find you like that so much and cannot wait to bring them home!

Bought cheese and honey as my lovely capture

I think Hong Kong students may expect to have information in Chinese, I take writing blogs in English as one of my practice during my exchange period. If the theme is closely related to Exchange Information such as visa, local transportation, etc. I will put Chinese one besides.
